Howly uses OAuth 2.0 with strictly read-only access. We never store your credentials. Access is granted through a secure token issued directly by HubSpot. We cannot edit, write, or change anything in your portal.
Do you store my workflow structures?
No. Your workflow logic is pulled on demand to render your map and exists only within your active session. We do not store workflow structures or CRM object data on our servers.
Will Howly affect my HubSpot API rate limits?
No. Our sync engine batches API calls to respect HubSpot's rate limits. It is built to handle large portals with hundreds of workflows reliably without disrupting your other integrations.
What kind of connections can Howly detect?
Howly identifies three relationship types: direct enrollment, where one workflow explicitly sends records into another; list-based connections, where a shared list links two workflows; and property-based connections, where one workflow sets a property that triggers another.
How is this different from HubSpot's workflow view?
HubSpot shows workflows individually, but not how they intersect. Howly maps those connections visually, surfacing dependencies, identifying risks, and helping you understand the full system before making changes.
What is the Impact Analyzer?
The Impact Analyzer scans every workflow to find where specific HubSpot properties are referenced. Before you rename or delete a property, run it through the Impact Analyzer to see the full impact of that change across your portal.
Can I document my workflows in Howly?
Yes. You can add a purpose and notes to any workflow and assign it a risk level. These are compiled into an SOP and documentation page in your exported audit report, useful for handoffs, internal docs, and audits.
Does Howly work with large portals?
Yes. The sync engine is built for portals with hundreds of workflows. First load takes 10 to 25 seconds depending on portal size, and it handles large instances reliably without hitting API limits.
Does Howly support Sandbox accounts?
Yes. Howly is compatible with all HubSpot Professional and Enterprise portals, including Sandbox and developer portals.
Is there a free trial?

What happens when my trial ends?
Your account moves to the free plan, where you keep an explorable workflow map of up to 50 workflows. You can view connections, filter by trigger and action type, and see recent changes. Paid features like AI audits, health scoring, the Howly MCP, exports, and branded reports require a Pro or Agency subscription. Your layout and settings are saved, so upgrading picks up where you left off.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. After your trial, Howly stays free as a workflow map you can explore anytime, see up to 50 workflows, their connections, and recent changes at no cost. Upgrade to Pro or Agency for unlimited workflows plus audits, health scoring, exports, and client-ready reports.
How many workflows can I see on the free plan?
The free plan shows your 50 most recently updated workflows. If your portal has more than 50, you'll see the 50 that changed most recently, and upgrading to Pro or Agency unlocks your full portal with no limit.
Can agencies use Howly across multiple clients?
Yes. You can connect unlimited HubSpot portals to your Howly account, making it a practical tool for agencies and consultants managing automation across multiple client instances.
How do I revoke Howly's access?
You can revoke Howly's access at any time directly from your HubSpot Connected Apps settings. You stay in full control.
